WebCare360 Seasonal Greeting: Looking Back at 2023

WebCare360 Editorial Team

This historical greeting was published on 1 January 2024, looking back at 2023 and WebCare360's fourteenth year since its 2009 beginning. We thank the customers and partners whose support accompanied that period.

VPS Isolation: What Virtual Resources Do and Do Not Protect

WebCare360 Editorial Team

A VPS gives you a virtual server environment; it does not automatically give you an entire physical machine or an anonymous account. Resource allocation, operating-system access and provider data handling are separate questions. Understanding those boundaries helps you judge what a VPS specification actually promises.

What a Streaming Server Does for Video Delivery

WebCare360 Editorial Team

A streaming server is a computer running software that receives, prepares or serves media. Its role depends on the application: an origin supplies media to players or a delivery network, while a processing worker converts media into usable outputs. Renting a dedicated server supplies computing resources; it does not automatically supply a complete streaming service.

Streaming Playback Troubleshooting: Source, Delivery and Player

WebCare360 Editorial Team

When a stream buffers, fails to start or plays on only some devices, record the symptom before changing infrastructure. Compare the same programme, rendition and time window, then trace the source, media preparation, delivery path and player. Streaming infrastructure does not supply a subscription, a content library or distribution rights.

Digital Asset Protection: Recovery, Access and Ownership

WebCare360 Editorial Team

Protect a digital asset by recording who can control it, which copy can be recovered and what evidence supports your right to use it. Those are separate responsibilities. An offshore or “DMCA-free” hosting label does not replace account access controls, a tested recovery method or rights records.

Linux or Windows Dedicated Server: Verify Application Compatibility

WebCare360 Editorial Team

Choose a dedicated server's operating system from the application's supported platform, dependencies, licensing and your team's operating skills. Linux is not universally more secure or faster, and a Microsoft-related workload does not automatically require Windows. Validate the exact application and version before ordering.

Understanding IPTV: Services, Networks and Playback

WebCare360 Editorial Team

IPTV means Internet Protocol Television: television and related media delivered using IP networks. It describes a way of providing a media service, not a particular channel package, player application or rented server. Understanding those separate parts helps explain what the technology does - and what its name does not promise.

DDoS Readiness: Build a Pre-Incident Service Checklist

WebCare360 Editorial Team

Prepare for a DDoS event by making a service-specific readiness record before an outage: map exposed endpoints, confirm the protection already in place, establish normal behavior and rehearse who will act. The output is an evidence-backed list of ready items and unresolved gaps, not a promise that an attack cannot interrupt service.

SELinux on CentOS 7: Disable Procedure and Safer Diagnostics

WebCare360 Editorial Team

On CentOS 7, SELinux can be disabled persistently through /etc/selinux/config, followed by a reboot. Disabling it removes an access-control layer and should not be the default response to an application permission problem. If you are diagnosing a denial, investigate it first and consider a controlled permissive-mode test instead.

Install and Verify a LAMP Stack on Ubuntu

WebCare360 Editorial Team

A LAMP installation combines Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, but installing the packages is only the first check. This guide uses Ubuntu 24.04 LTS distribution packages for a new test deployment. It replaces the old Ubuntu 20.04 instructions; do not run it as an in-place upgrade recipe on a live application server.

Flush a DNS Cache: Identify the Resolver and Verify the Result

WebCare360 Editorial Team

Flush a local DNS cache when evidence points to an outdated cached answer on that device. It does not change authoritative DNS records, clear every upstream resolver, or guarantee faster browsing. First compare the failing hostname with the expected record and determine which resolver the device or application actually uses.
