Setup & configuration
Start with the operating environment, access model and supported software. Agree which setup and server configuration tasks the management service covers.
SERVER MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Server administration with a clear scope. Bring the configuration, security and maintenance work into an agreed management service while keeping ownership of your websites and applications.
THE SHORT ANSWER
Fully managed server hosting brings an agreed set of administration tasks into your hosting service. The infrastructure supplies the server environment; management defines who configures, maintains and supports that environment.
A managed service includes the administration tasks agreed for the selected service. A product name alone does not establish every task or software licence. You continue to own your website content, application decisions and the work within your control. Full management does not mean every website or custom-code task is included.
Choose the infrastructure and the operating responsibilities together. Managed VPS is a distinct service family; dedicated management must be included or separately agreed for the selected configuration.
01 / WHAT WE MANAGE
Server administration, migration and security assistance are available service areas. Build your agreement around the work your environment needs.
Start with the operating environment, access model and supported software. Agree which setup and server configuration tasks the management service covers.
Define responsibility for hardening, firewall rules and supported component updates. Agree the change process and application checks before work begins.
Specify which services the team will investigate and maintain. Monitoring coverage and incident handling belong in the agreement; support availability alone does not define them.
Bring the current environment, access requirements and recovery needs to the team. Migration assistance is available; backup coverage and restore work need their own defined scope.
02 / RESPONSIBILITY MATRIX
Read “agreed” as work confirmed for your service, not an automatic inclusion. Provider obligations and customer responsibilities remain distinct. Use this matrix to mark each task as included, separately quoted or customer-owned before approving a service.
| Responsibility | WebCare360 | Customer | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| OS administration | Agreed managed tasks | Application requirements and approvals | Unmanaged OS administration stays with the customer. |
| Control panel & web stack | Selected supported configuration | Required software and licences | Managed VPS lists cPanel; dedicated licences are configuration-specific. |
| Patching & firewall changes | Work defined in the agreement | Application compatibility checks | No universal update window or complete threat-prevention guarantee. |
| Monitoring & incident work | Coverage agreed per service | Report issues and provide context | Do not assume all applications are monitored. |
| Backup & restore | Included or separately agreed service | Independent critical copies and recovery tests | Remote backups are listed for Managed VPS; retention and restores require confirmation. |
| Migration & security audit | Separately scoped assistance | Access, dependencies and acceptance checks | Agree deliverables before work starts. |
| Website content & application code | Only explicitly agreed application work | Content, code and application maintenance | Server management does not transfer every application responsibility. |
| Domains, DNS & third-party accounts | Only the agreed supported tasks | Access and changes within your control | Identify the owner of each account and external dependency. |
On smaller screens, scroll the comparison horizontally. The task label and column headings identify each responsibility.
03 / HOW MANAGEMENT WORKS
A clear handover starts with the environment and ends with an agreed way to make and verify changes. For an OS update, agree who approves the timing, applies the change, checks the application and handles rollback.
Describe the workload, access, software and customer responsibilities. Confirm the management scope before deployment or handover.
Agree setup, security configuration and the changes needed for the supported environment.
Use the agreed maintenance and incident process. Confirm any monitoring coverage and coordinate changes with application owners.
Supply the symptoms and access needed for scoped assistance. Validate the application after changes or recovery work.
04 / MANAGED VS UNMANAGED
Unmanaged hosting gives you administration responsibility. It does not remove the provider’s responsibilities for its own infrastructure and service.
| Operational area | Managed service | Unmanaged service |
|---|---|---|
| Administration | Agreed server tasks handled by the team | Customer administers the OS and application environment |
| Security & updates | Scope, components and change process agreed | Customer manages their server configuration and updates |
| Monitoring & troubleshooting | Coverage and incident responsibilities agreed | Customer investigates their environment; provider service obligations remain |
| Software & licences | Defined by the managed product and configuration | No extra panel or application licence assumed |
| Backups & migration | Included or separately agreed work | Customer plans backups and requests any additional assistance |
| Your role | Maintain applications, content, access and agreed customer tasks | Operate the server as well as applications and content |
05 / SECURITY & MAINTENANCE
Agree the supported components, security work and change process. The management label alone does not establish universal tooling or update windows.
Confirm the operating system, panel and web stack covered by the agreement. Managed VPS lists cPanel and cPGuard. Those package facts do not imply CloudLinux, LiteSpeed or every security tool is included across all managed servers.
A host firewall controls server traffic. A web application firewall addresses web requests; malware tooling addresses malicious files or behavior. Network DDoS protection is a separate service capability.
Define who applies updates, approves changes and validates the application afterward. A server security audit identifies potential issues and improvements; it does not guarantee immunity from vulnerabilities.
06 / MIGRATION & RECOVERY
Migration assistance is available. Preparation, access and acceptance checks make the requested work clear before a cutover.
Share the current operating environment, application dependencies, data to move, access requirements and destination. Agree the cutover window, validation and recovery plan. No zero-downtime or guaranteed recovery-time promise is implied.
Managed VPS lists remote backups. Dedicated backups are not assumed unless included or separately ordered. Confirm frequency, retention, destination, protected data and who performs restores. Keep independent critical copies and test recovery.
07 / AVAILABLE WITH
Management is an operational service, not a location or hardware class. Select the appropriate product and agree the required administration.
A separate managed configuration. Its published packages list cPanel, cPGuard and remote backups; confirm the detailed operational and recovery arrangements.
Review management for the selected configuration. A dedicated hardware order alone does not establish a fully managed scope.
Unmanaged unless management is explicitly included or separately ordered. Discuss the supported environment and required administration.
Self-managed Linux and Windows VPS do not become managed simply through location selection. Shared Hosting, WordPress, Storage, Streaming and GPU are not automatically eligible under this page’s management scope. Review any additional requirement with the team.
08 / CLEAR BOUNDARIES
An agreed server-management service is not an unlimited application or business-support contract.
Your content, application behavior, credentials and lawful use remain your responsibility within your control. Server management does not automatically include website design, content updates, SEO work or custom-code development and debugging.
Third-party software, unusual stacks, domain/account changes and end-user device support should not be assumed included. Describe the requirement first so the team can confirm supportability, ownership, scope and any charges.
Confirm root or administrator access for the managed environment. Agree backup and restore arrangements separately from disk redundancy. Management does not automatically upgrade network protection or establish a response-time SLA.
09 / FAQ
It includes the server administration tasks agreed for your managed service. Establish the operating environment, supported software, maintenance, security work and incident responsibilities before ordering. Managed VPS lists cPanel, cPGuard and remote backups; this does not establish identical inclusions for every dedicated configuration.
With unmanaged VPS or dedicated service, you administer the operating system and applications. Managed service adds an agreed administration scope. WebCare360 retains its applicable infrastructure and support obligations in either model.
Yes. Managed VPS is a separate published service family. Linux and Windows VPS are self-managed unless a management service is expressly agreed; do not assume selecting a location changes that responsibility.
Discuss the current operating system, software, access and required work with the team. Dedicated and multi-server management are service areas, but acceptance of an existing environment and its detailed scope need review.
Server migration assistance is available. Share the current environment, dependencies, access and destination requirements so the team can define the work. Agree testing, the cutover window and recovery arrangements; do not assume a zero-downtime commitment.
Agree which components will be maintained, who authorizes changes and which services are monitored. Management scope differs by service. A general support statement is not a promise of continuous monitoring of every application.
Managed VPS packages list remote backups. Dedicated backups are not assumed unless included or ordered. Confirm frequency, retention, protected data, storage destination and restore responsibilities for your service. Keep appropriate independent critical-data copies and test recovery.
Server management does not transfer responsibility for every application to WebCare360. Describe any application, development or debugging work separately and agree whether it is supported, its scope and any charges before it proceeds.
Access depends on the product and agreed operating environment. Root access is published for self-managed Linux VPS and Administrator/RDP for Windows VPS. Confirm the managed service’s access and change-control arrangements rather than assuming a universal rule.
Server administration and network DDoS protection have different scopes. Do not assume management changes the protection included with the underlying service. Review the DDoS service separately from host firewalls, web application controls and malware tooling.
