When replacing a FlokiNET service, keep domain ownership, server administration and the desired hosting location as separate requirements. A privacy-oriented domain intermediary is not automatically a like-for-like replacement for your hosting account, VPS or colocated equipment.
Method and disclosure: WebCare360 sells hosting. This is a documentary comparison, not a performance ranking or a claim of superior anonymity. Current FlokiNET first-party pages were inspected on 28 September 2026 through icelandwebhosting.com. Provider-published facts below describe the advertised offer and policies; they are not independently measured service quality.
Identify what must remain under your control
Start with the actual FlokiNET contract and account inventory. Record the product, deployed location, domain registration arrangement, root or panel access, application state and operator duties. A provider name alone does not identify what must be transferred.
FlokiNET: the current published baseline
Provider-published facts: The FlokiNET website lists shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers and domain search/registration. Its active location listings include Romania, Iceland, Netherlands and Finland. Norway, Canada and Singapore are labelled coming soon; do not treat those as current deployment choices. Product availability must still be checked for the exact order.
The same page describes root access and kernel control for VPS/dedicated services, and iLO/IPMI access on its HP servers. Its signup statement asks for a working email address without personal identification; its payment FAQ describes prepaid services. These are published account and service statements, not proof of anonymous application use, unlimited compatibility or measured reliability.
The current FlokiNET AUP identifies VPS and dedicated servers as unmanaged, with software support charged unless an administration service is booked. It prohibits spam, originating DDoS attacks, malware and phishing, among other activity; it also has an Iceland-specific adult-content restriction. Read the entire policy for your workload rather than interpreting free-speech branding as unrestricted hosting.
WebCare360 evaluation / reader check: If administration is your reason to move, request a task-by-task management scope from each candidate. If location is the reason, compare the exact order location, backup placement and network path. If account privacy is the reason, examine the data recorded during payment, support and operation separately from signup fields.
Njalla: distinguish its domain and server services
The Njalla FAQ explains that it acts between the customer and domain registration service: it holds the domain with contractual usage rights for the customer and describes ownership transfer. This is a distinct control arrangement, not merely the hiding of contact fields. Review the applicable agreement and transfer process before moving an important domain.
Njalla's server documentation separately describes Linux VPS service in Sweden, customer root administration and blocked outbound SMTP. It identifies an Incus-based system. These are concrete compatibility checks: a requirement for another jurisdiction, provider-managed cPanel or direct outbound mail may not fit that offer.
Njalla's domain model does not establish anonymity of application traffic, administrator activity or payment records. Do not transfer its domain-related claims to every server operation, or assume a new provider removes existing data held by the previous one.
Check ownership, access and compatibility
| Control | Evidence to obtain | Reason it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Domain rights | Contractual holder, account recovery and transfer procedure | A hosting migration must not silently change domain control |
| Server environment | Required OS/kernel features and actual virtualization model | Root access alone does not prove kernel or device compatibility |
| Mail delivery | Allowed outbound transport and supported relay method | Existing application notifications may depend on direct SMTP |
| Administrative work | Who patches, monitors, backs up and restores the system | An unmanaged VPS requires an accountable administrator |
| Data handling | Account, operational and support records; retention and access terms | A privacy slogan does not describe each record category |
| Location | Ordered deployment and backup locations | The destination must meet the actual location requirement |
Test the change without moving everything at once
Keep domain and hosting changes separate unless there is a documented reason to combine them. Build a restricted test server, restore an appropriate test copy and verify application dependencies, mail relay, scheduled jobs and recovery. Record the account owner and recovery method for each service.
If the server's operating model is unsuitable, select a candidate that can satisfy those requirements rather than forcing the application into an incompatible plan. If only domain control is the concern, replacing compute may not solve it.
Decision boundary
This review supports a control-model comparison, not a current claim that Njalla is cheaper, faster or more private than FlokiNET. Use FlokiNET’s current published baseline and the actual contracted service when assessing a candidate; neither a provider statement nor this checklist proves the result of your own workload test. Use the migration requirements guide once the replacement's service boundary and ownership arrangements are established.
